Cave of The Turtle

by Patrick Thilmany, December 2003, All Rights Reserved

If one could imagine a turtle living in a cave, it most probably would be a small cave alongside a stream or pond, or perhaps a sea turtle living in a cave on the coast of some unknown land. As the turtle lumbers along he/she slips and slides through the muddy areas and over the wet rocks while the internal music of existence reverberates within the confines of the cave. I hope this piece inspires the imagination of such a scenario. If not, feel free to let your imagination conjure your own image. Let me know what other images this tune inspires in you.

This piece is one of those accidental developments which occur when one is doodling around while restringing their guitar. As I was tuning the guitar fell into an open C tuning, although not a traditional open C.

Thanks for listening,
Patrick
